Planning a wedding is exciting, emotional, beautiful, and let’s be honest for a second... it can also be wildly confusing when it comes to the budget.
As a professional wedding DJ and videographer, I’ve been a part of hundreds of weddings. I’ve seen the magic of the day, the packed dance floors, the emotional vows, the incredible meals… but I’ve also heard of couples and their family members sitting at a table months before their wedding staring at spreadsheets like they’re trying to solve a NASA equation.
“How much should catering cost?”
“How did we already spend over half the budget just on our venue??”
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
After years of seeing couples struggle with this exact problem, I decided to do something about it.
We created a brand new app called Wedding Day Budget Calculator, and it’s officially live on the App Store!
And yes… it’s completely free.
The Moment the Idea Happened
The idea for this app actually started with a conversation I had with a bride last December. She told me she had spent nearly a month trying to figure out how much her wedding would realistically cost. She was bouncing between vendor websites, asking friends for advice, guessing numbers, and building spreadsheets that somehow still didn’t make sense.
I had previously given couples a Google Sheets budgeting template, which worked… but only if you liked spreadsheets and had time to sit at a computer.
Most people don’t.
That’s when the idea hit me: why isn’t there a simple app that helps couples calculate their wedding budget right from their phone?
So I called Andrew.
Andrew Brumbeloe is a talented app developer and someone who actually knows how to turn crazy ideas into real apps. I pitched him the concept: an app that could turn 30 days of budget confusion into about 30 seconds of clarity. Thankfully, he didn’t hang up on me.

Why We Built the app
Here’s the reality most couples discover during planning: Almost everyone goes over their wedding budget. Sometimes a little. Sometimes a lot. And most of the time it’s not because couples are reckless. It's because they simply didn’t know what things actually cost.
That’s exactly the problem we wanted to solve.
The Wedding Day Budget Calculator helps you answer the single most important question couples have when they start planning:
“How much should we realistically expect to spend for each vendor based on our overall budget?”
Instead of guessing numbers or building complicated spreadsheets, the app walks you through a simple process that helps you estimate your wedding budget based on your priorities.

Download the app. Create an account with your name and email. Log in later with Face ID to make it even faster).
Then you can begin building your wedding budget. Inside the app you can:
Set your total target budget
Adjust your estimated guest count
Add and customize vendor categories
Enter estimated costs for vendors like catering, venue, photography, DJ, florals, and more
Reorder categories based on your priorities
As you make changes, the app instantly updates your totals so you can see how everything fits into your overall plan. In other words… no more guessing.

Collaboration Made Easy
Wedding planning is rarely a one-person job. You’ve got brides, grooms, planners, parents, and occasionally an opinionated aunt who suddenly becomes very invested in the floral budget.
So we built the app with collaboration in mind.
You can easily export your entire wedding budget as a PDF and share it with:
Your wedding planner
Your fiancé
Your parents
You can send it via text, Airdrop, or email so everyone involved is working from the same numbers. And trust me — when everyone understands the budget from the beginning, the planning process becomes a whole lot smoother.
On top of that, you can actually share the app file so that you and your planner can make edits easily back and forth from inside the app!!
Built for Real Couples
One thing we’re incredibly proud of is that this app wasn’t built by a giant corporation that’s never worked a wedding. It was built by people who are actually inside the wedding industry.
I’ve spent years DJing weddings, filming wedding films, and working alongside pro planners, venue owners, photographers, florists, and caterers. I’ve seen what works, what causes stress, and what couples wish they had known earlier.
This app is our attempt to make that part of the process easier.
Because when couples understand their budget early, they can make smarter decisions, avoid unnecessary stress, and actually enjoy the engagement season. And honestly… that’s the whole point.
